Tuition and Fees

Tuition and fees are due and payable in full at registration unless special arrangements have been made with the Office of Financial Aid.  Tuition and fees provide for:

• A laptop computer (first year only) and computer maintenance (each year);
• All required texts (each year), workbooks (each year), and necessary anatomy dissection equipment (first year only);
• Access to a portable Osteopathic Principles and Practices (OP&P) table and the use of a PNWU-COM microscope for the first two years; 
• A stethoscope (first year only), an ophthalmoscope (first year only), an otoscope (first year only), a lab coat and scrub suit (fist year issuance); and
• Interactive video conferencing (each year).
• All American Osteopathic Association (AOA), Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA), and Washington Osteopathic Medical Association (WOMA) annual dues, if applicable;
• As well as the requisite registration fees for the initial taking of COMLEX Level I, COMLEX Level II CE, and COMLEX Level II PE exams; and
• Membership at YAC Fitness (first two years only).

Student Health Plans

Students must have health insurance at the time of matriculation, but the plan and carrier is their choice.

Pacific Northwest University has found a student health insurance plan that will cost approximately $100 per month, www.ajfusa.com.  The coverage is minimal and has limitations; however it is a low cost option that may fit your needs.  Another insurance plan option is through Student Osteopathic Medical Association (SOMA), www.somainsurance.com. 

Provided below are resources for students to search for individual or family health insurance plans.  It is important to read carefully and consider all of your options when making a decision about purchasing health insurance for yourself or your family. The provider should give you a thorough explanation of; benefits that are covered, any plan exclusions or limitations, whether you are required to use a network of providers, plan maximum, deductibles and co-pays, and if there is an out-of-pocket annual maximum. Be aware that some plans limit coverage for mental health conditions or do not cover pregnancy unless you request a pregnancy rider.
