PNWU is pleased to announce eight newly established residency programs in rural communities throughout the Pacific Northwest. These community-sponsored residency programs were created in relationship with PNWU. Osteopathic medical students across the country can apply for the following opportunities:
Skagit Valley Hospital – Mt. Vernon, Washington
• Family Medicine
• Internal Medicine
Kennewick General Hospital – Kennewick, Washington
• Family Medicine
• Internal Medicine
Good Samaritan Hospital – Puyallup, Washington
• Family Medicine
Puyallup Tribal Council – Puyallup, Washington
• Family Medicine
Mineral Community Hospital – Superior, Montana
• Frontier Family Medicine
Yakima Valley Farm Workers – Prosser/Kennewick, Washington
• Family Medicine (planned for 2013)
PNWU provided in-kind support, working with hospitals and clinics to set up the programs. Medical students are required to complete a specialized residency program to practice medicine.
“This is the largest group of new residencies to be developed by a D.O. school,” Chief Academic Officer Dr. Bob Sutton said.
