cadwells.jpgEighteen months ago, in response to the need for additional training and student space at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU), Dr. John and Priscilla Cadwell, of the Tri-Cities, designed and built PNWU’s new student center.

Groundbreaking for the 10,000-square-foot Cadwell Student Center was on June 23, 2010, and the facility opened for use in January 2011. The center was designed to meet the College of Osteopathic Medicine’s requirements for expanded classroom space, study and research areas, but also included a student lounge area and student government offices. Since its completion, PNWU has been leasing the building back from the Cadwells.

On January 23, 2012, the Cadwells signed paperwork transferring title on the $2 million center to PNWU, in anticipation of a hoped-for class size increase.

cadwells.jpgProud supporters of PNWU, and parents of Marie Cadwell Meyer, a graduating PNWU medical student, Dr. Cadwell volunteered as a pro bono administrator, working with the university’s leadership team on financial and organizational development, bringing a wealth of business leadership experience and expertise. Priscilla Cadwell serves on the school’s Regional Advisory Cabinet representing the Tri-Cities, and is an active supporter of PNWU in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.

After an initial tour of PNWU in 2008 with their daughter, Priscilla was not sure if it was Dr. John or Marie who was more excited about coming to PNWU. That excitement still exists today, with a gift they know will affect future health professionals and patients for generations to come.

Over 30 years ago, John and Priscilla started Cadwell Laboratories, Inc. in the basement of their home. Today, Cadwell Labs is a world leader in the manufacture and sales of diagnostic neurophysiologic medical electronic equipment.
