Mary Jo Robinson, DO

Dr. Mary Jo Robinson returned to the Pacific Northwest after teaching and practicing in Southern New Jersey at UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine and Kennedy Health Center in Stratford for 20 years. She graduated from Des Moines University in 1987 and did a transitional internship at Des Moines General Hospital. She moved to Cherry Hill New, Jersey to do her Pathology residency at Kennedy and did a Dermatopathology Fellowship with the late A. Bernard Ackerman, MD at the Dermatopathology Institute, Jefferson Medical School in Philadelphia. She is board certified by the AOA in Anatomic Pathology, Laboratory Medicine and Dermatopathology. She began working at PNWU as a part-time Associate Professor in Pathology in June 2009, while practicing as a contract pathologist and Locum tenens in Tacoma and Kent Washington. She relocated to Yakima in June 2010 to begin a fulltime position. She currently is involved in teaching Pathology to second year medical students and is not only course director in 3 systems courses but is also Chair of the Curriculum Committee. Extracurricular activities include membership in both the American Board of Osteopathic Pathologists and American College of Pathologists and she is Past Chair of both associations. She has served as the AOBPa representative to the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists. She is also an author of a number of Dermatopathology related articles to peer reviewed dermatology and pathology journals and has presented a number of lectures to Osteopathic pathologists at national meetings.
