Dr. Juan Acosta brings a wealth of experience and passion for learning to PNWU and the Yakima community.

Dr. Acosta earned his DO degree from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internship and residency in emergency medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York. He relocated to Yakima from New York City in May 2009 to join the faculty at PNWU. His teaching interests include emergency medicine and cardiac care certification. When he’s not in the classroom or working as an attending physician at various Yakima Valley hospitals, he volunteers at an urgent care clinic supervising PNWU students, and also finds time to write a medical column for one of Yakima’s Spanish newspapers. He’s enjoying the lack of traffic and getting to know the people of the Yakima Valley.
