Stan Martinkus
Treasurer
Stan Martinkus was raised in Yakima. He received a BA and MBA from the University of Washington after which he worked at Price Waterhouse & Co. in Seattle for five years and became a CPA. He moved back to Yakima in 1979, taking a position with Yakima Asphalt Paving and Yakima Cement Products Co. In 1983, he purchased Western Materials with business partner Bill Douglas and has been President and CEO since then. Western Materials is a construction supply company with locations in Yakima, Pasco, and Wenatchee.
Mr. Martinkus and his wife, Pam, have been married for 41 years. They have three grown children and six grandchildren who all live in the Yakima area.
Mr. Martinkus has served on a number of community and industry boards:
- Memorial Hospital (for 19 years with 3 years as chairman of the board)
- United Way
- Rotary Club of Yakima (2006 president)
- Yakima Rotary Trust
- Washington Wine Country
- Northwest Concrete Masonry Association
- Western Building Materials Dealers Association
- Nemeon, a national roofing distributor cooperative where he was a founding member, a board member for nine years, and chairman for two years.
