Dr. Paul Emmans Jr., DO

Dr. Emmans graduated from the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. He then went on to complete a rotating medicine internship at Tucson General Hospital in Arizona. Dr. Emmans is board certified in family practice by the American Osteopathic Board of Family Practice, with an added certification in geriatrics in 1995.
Upon completion of his training, Dr. Emmans and his family moved to the Yakima Valley. Dr. Emmans was actively involved at the New Valley Osteopathic Hospital (renamed Community Hospital) in Yakima, Wshington, up until its closure. He served as president of their medical staff and also as a board member. From 1981 - 1982, Dr. Emmans served as president of the Washington Osteopathic Medical Association (WOMA) and has remained a delegate from WOMA to the AOA House of Delegates since that time. Since 1992, he has served as medical director for several area nursing homes and has been a preceptor for students from Western University of Health Sciences, Des Moines University, and Kansas City University. His example led his son, Paul Emmans III, DO, to follow in his father's footsteps. His son currently serves as faculty at Central Washington Family Medicine in Yakima.
